Copying error: CRC. How do I copy anyways?

I'm using Win2k and I want to copy a file off a cd but when it's almost done copying it gives me a crc message and aborts. How do I copy that file anyways? I know the file is fine as far as I can tell, it loads and works, but I can't copy it.

Edit: More information. It's a realmedia file. I can play it on the cd and seek around the video, so I assume the file on the cd is fine (good enough for realplayer) since RM files don't let you seek if there is anything wrong with the file (incomplete, etc). This is odd since I can't copy the file to harddrive. I can't even use cd to cd copy. This my backup cd and I just want to make another copy of it.

I tried using cp to copy the file. But it tells me there's an i/o error leaving a file that's missing 19MB... 🙁

Try cleaning the cd, and the laser in your drive.. failing that, try another drive.. ive had some crc problems with cheap drives before (and im not counting my creative coasterblaster as a 'quality' product...)

The cd isn't scratched and I have swiped it clean a few times with a soft cloth. I have a plextor 12/10/32 cdrw and a toshiba 12x dvd-rom, so I'm not sure if they'd be the culprit.
