Hi folks,

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but I was wondering if there's any way to copy a dvd to tape. I'm talking about a Panasonic table-top dvd player, not PC dvd player. I connected it to my vcr, but if I try to record, I get garbage; I suppose because of the copy protection most DVDs have. I BOUGHT some DVDs, and since I have kids playing Shrek, Toy Story, etc. all the time, and dvd's are kind of expensive, I thought I could copy the disks to tape and let the kids play with them, instead of having to replace a scratched dvd, but I guess DVD producers never heard the workd "backup". Any suggestions?

Thanks!

making back-up? sure,no problem go to best b and buy the sima color corrector or buy a vcr that was made before 95' or read this The reality is that there is a threat by the US copyright office in there to invoke legislative action to ban the use of Macrovision or other copy protection mechanisms if they interfere with the Fair Use of copyrighted material

It's funny. Everyone tells me this or "get a VCR that has mono audio only." I got my vcr in 92 and it still gets all screwed up from the macrovision going through my DVD player. It sucks bad, so I have to get an RF modulator to fix it.

go to google.com, and search for: dvd player macrovision hack followed by your dvd player's name and model #.
