Copying audio CDs, adding CD-Text

What's the best way to go about this?

I am currently using Exact Audio Copy (secure mode). On the side, I am encoding the CDs to MP3 with LAME.

Anyway, I know realize that not all of my CDs adhere to the 2-second gad between tracks. Is there a program that will automagially space tracks as they are on the original (some having 0 seconds between them) and still allow me to add CD-Text?

Thanks in advance.

EAC will copy a disk with the proper spacings, ie a cd with some 2 second gaps and some 0 second gaps will be copied that way. If you burn using EAC it will write cd text if your burner supports it, and make an exact audio copy. I don't know how much you have tried using EAC for copying and burning, but basicaly you want to open EAC, put a cd in, if it's a commercial cd, have it check the cddb for track titles, these will be used for cd text, if it's not a commercial cd you can edit the information yourself. Then go to Action/Copy Image and Create Cue Sheet (shortcut=Alt+F7). If you open the .cue with notepad, you will see all the cd text info is there.
You will also see the spacings are correct. To write the cd: Tools/Write CDR (shortcut Alt+W), then in CD Layout Editor: File/Load Cuesheet after cuesheet is loaded CDR/Write CD click Make It So. Be sure it is not in test mode unless you want to test. I copy a lot of live Grateful Dead shows for people and EAC is the only way to be sure you get EXACTLY what is on the original cd onto your CDR. I have extracted an image made an MD5 checksum burned the image then extracted it from the burn and got a match with MD5 check. I don't think any other copying program out there will do this. If you haven't already done so set up your CDROM and burner for EAC following instructions at The Coaster Factory. I hope this is helpful.
