OK... I have a slowly failing boot drive that for stupid reasons I won't get into I made a dynamic disk some time ago. Now, I need to get what's on the disk off it. Obviously one option is to back up the data and reformat, and reinstall Windows and my apps, but that would be such a colossal pain in the a** I don't even want to think about it.
So I'm looking for ways to duplicate a dynamic disk over to another hard drive, or to convert the dynamic disk to a basic disk so I can use tools like Norton Ghost or Powerquest Drive Image. I found "Partition Manager" and "Drive Copy" from Paragon Software, but I've been unable to find any reviews that say whether or not they actually do what they claim - convert dynamic to basic, and copy dynamic disks, respectively. I'm hesitant to shell out the $$ without being certain they work, since I already own other drive imaging software.
Any ideas? There's got to be something out there that can convert dynamic disks back to basic, or at the very least do a sector copy of the drive to another drive...
Thanks in advance!
