I'm running WinXP Pro login as an administrator. I wanted to copy the setting of the default admin into another new account (different user name) so all environment setting (desktop setting, start menu, icon, color setting, Quick Launch menu... etc) are preserved. How do I do that?

Thanks

This has been asked many times, but here you go...

Since you want to copy the admin account, you will need to create a temporary account with administrator priviledges. Log in as the new admin, right click on my computer and go to properties. Click the user profiles tab. Highlight the account you want to copy (administrator) and click copy to. In the copy profile to box, click browse and browse the account that you want to copy the admin account to. It will be in c:\documents and settings\username (if your install is on C). Next click the change box for permitted to use. Choose the new user account. Click ok a few times to copy the profile. Then you can log in as the other user and everything should look like the admin account. Dont forget to delete the temp admin account.
