"Copy Of" File Annoyance

Hello,

Recently I been finding copies of files ( word docs, pdf's, etc.) titled "Copy of" and then the file name. It seems to be happening in many of the folders where I keep my documents. I do not know what is causing this. Sometimes when I attach files to e-mail messages via outlook, I will attach a file and then open it through the attachment on an outlook e-mail to check if I selected the right file. Would this cause Windows to make a copy of the file? Sorry if this question is silly.

That shouldn't create a copy. Most often, I see people accidentally release their file drag back in to the folder, before reaching their destination (such as dragging and attaching to emails). That creates copies.
