Copy my nvme ssd to a larger one?

Hi all. On my ps5 I have the built in drive, a 2tb nvme drive and an ext 4tb for ps4 stuff. On the 2 Tb nvme drive I am almost out of space. I want to get a 4tb nvme drive but want to know how can I copy all the data from the 2tb drive. Or do I have to re-download everything?

You should be able to backup the PS5 game installs to the external USB drive.

But my external 4tb drive is full as well. Can I pop in a blank USB drive, copy to that, move to larger 4tb nvme, then put the 4tb USB back? That drive has all my ps4 games.

Based on that guide, ANY compatible storage can be used to backup the existing data from your 2TB NVMe and then restore to the new 4TB NVMe drive. In fact, it sounds like you choose what to backup implying you could use multiple smaller storage devices if that is what it takes.

Yep. Thanks, this worked. I removed the EXT 4TB ps4 drive, popped in another new 4tb drive and copied over the 2tb NVME drive. My WD black 4tb should be in tomorrow and I'll copy back all the data. For some reason I recall that you couldn't copy PS5 data to an external USB drive then I remembered it was you can RUN PS5 sw from external usb drive. Ug. Anyway, data copy took forever but it is all backed up.

The copy went well. I'm having issues with the PS5 not synching to Sony's cloud a lot of the time. Could also be the second internet connection I added to my router but I can live with it for now. So now I have the built in 650 or so gigs, 4TB of m.2 for PS5 games and 4TB external USB for PS4 stuff, which is almost full as well. Man. I am a hoarder
