Copy Hardrives

I currently have WinXP-SP2 on a Maxtor 300GB EIDE HD with 2 partitions (C and D). I just purchased a WD WD4000KD SATA 150 400GB. The WD came with a CD called Data Life Tools which can copy the content of one drive to another.

My question is did any one do this successfully? My intent is to copy my C: drive to the new WD drive and use it as a new boot drive.

I remember that Maxtor offers something similar but when I tried it last year it did not work for some reason.

I use Norton Ghost to do something like this.

That data life suppose to do the same thing.. i never tried it but many here had.. you can always buy ghost or other imaging program.. they're all pretty good
