copy and pasted from notepad to ms word

when i try to copy and paste some text from notepad to ms word, it spaces the letters and everything differently. how do i fix that? im copying over guitar tablature so it has to be spaced evenly no what what character is entered in the field. word changes the spacing according to what character you put in. how do i make ms word work more like notepad?
 
If it's only a problem with the font, try selecting everything and changing it to a fixed-width font like "Courier New".
