Copy and paste not working - WinXP

Very odd problem today - copy, cut and paste no longer work on my system here at the office. Even within Office when I cut or copy something it does not appear in the clip board. Anyone every experience this before? Any help would be appreciated
 
It is possible you're infected with one of the RPC viruses, like Blaster.

Go into Services and see if your "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" service is running or stopped.
 
DCOM had previously been killed, went ahead and scanned anyway...found nothing, thought perhaps my boss was joking around...wasn't him, so I went back to my roots and rebooted the system....all is fine. I guess XP gets unhappy running for weeks on end.

You mean to tell us that you posted in technical support before rebooting. Oh the shame. 😀

Do you have the RPC patch installed on your machine?
