If you have a point, please make it.
There are other industries with the potential for all of these issues. They all still exist.
You're tying to argue around the fact that you just don't like the idea of prostitution. It kind of reminds me of Intelligent Design, actually.
No... what I dont like is the "everyone police themselves" new world order of chaos that you are proposing. If people were capable of policing themselves, government would have never become necessary in the beginning.
What new world order? If you believe in regulation so strongly,
than regulate everything about prostitution. Most employee/employer stuff would be covered under current laws (actually, I imagine most prostitutes would be classified as contractors).
Again, you're making an argument that just isn't there. Either go back to your originl position of legislating subjective morality, or accept that you are wrong.
How is regulating everything about prostitution any less invasive on individuals rights, than completely outlawing it? Your original argument, was the government should completely "butt-out" of peoples sex lives.
Let me develop a mini set of rules and we'll see how this works out.
1)No Bondage because of liability issues
2)No restricted breathing because of liability issues
3)No particiation while under a controlled substance
4)Oral sex is only permissible when the worker is the giver, and the client is the reciever.
5)Clients with documented heart problems are ineligible
6)Condoms are mandatory, if the condom breaks, all activity must cease until it is replaced...
when the rules get so restrictive, that you can only do missionary for a maximum of 38 minutes without an OSHA rest break, are you going to cry foul again, that the government should be regulating this business?
------
Are you going to re-write right to work acts, so that a worker cannot be fired for refusing to perform a particular act with a paying client?
