IT was a nice night to go biking, at this time of night there's no traffic be it motor vehicle traffic, pedestrians or other cyclists. Really nice to go biking.. anyways I'm going down this road and then the road hits a highway and turns into a one-way access road. I'm going the wrong way down and I can't exactly cross the highway so I decide to play it safe and go on the sidewalk. Or so I think. There's a minivan cop car that drives by and puts on the flashers and stops me. Asks me for ID, drivers license (don't got one), ask what I'm doing, where I work etc... turns out one of the cops is a friend of a girl at the place I work! Anyway they didn't ticket me, perhaps cause of that. But they warned me "stay off the sidewalk, we can ticket you for that" and then they left and I did. I stuck on the sidewalk till I got off the one-way on the next street then I biked down to the river and went back home. I was pissed for getting stopped and relieved that I didn't have to pay a ticket. I don't have headlights or a helmet or any of that crap either, but they didn't say anything about that. heh...

ah hahaha... cops kinda scare me... like i've never gotten a ticket for riding my bike, but i got stopped for an expired registration, and it scared the sh1t out of me... my parents would always say like 1 ticket, and you're not driving... at ALL... so like yeah, that ish was scary as a mofo.

He was probably looking for a bribe.
Next time take a dozen donuts with you to pay them off....

Heh.. I just got pulled over a couple of days ago on my way to work, and the cop asked me if I was drag racing him... (I told him I used to drag a few years ago (coincidentally, on the same street I was pulled over), and he ended up letting me go).

Silly cops...

<< Long Island Cops are a bunch of overpaid idiots. They do nothing but hand out tickets and eat donuts. >>

suffolk or nassau county? here in suffolk these mofo's get paid 110k a year to do nothing. there is practically no crime in this area.

our college town notorious for bikes, especially around campus. there's a road down the middle of campus that divides it into two blocks, i was going to my friend's house last year and got stopped midway. she only lived about 5 blocks away, and this was at 2am, two cops on bikes chased after me and cited me for running past a stop sign without stopping (the stop sign is for a driveway out of one of the two campus blocks). not only was i ticketed, they gave me a citation for not having my bike registered. what was awesome was as he was writing the ticket his partner just sat there watching, as another bike goes right past with no lights, through the stop sign.

My uncle got pulled over by a bicycle cop for doing 30 in a 20. Said he saw him with the rader out when he drove past and could see the guy huffing and puffing trying to catch up. He got to the intersection and the light turned red and the guy finally caught up. Said he would have pulled over had it been green. He was in a company truck, would have been sorta obvious :)

He's gonna have a tough time living down getting a ticket from a bicycle cop for speeding in his truck :)

isn't it a law you can't get points on your license or even fines for traffic violations anyways, if you're on the company clock?

What sucks is that tickets on a bike are same as tickets in your car.

Stupid Davis and their bike cops and the Bike Capital of the US.

back 8 or so years ago when I was stupid I was determined to go as fast as possible. thre was this hill not far from where I lived. The steepest portion was on main street. so I figured why not.

The speed limit on that road is 35 miles an hour.I wasn't really paying attention tot he car just focusing on the bike pumping my leg as fast as possible I looked up and I was noticing that I was *PASSING** cars.

I figured if I wreck it'd be instant death, considering I had no helemt on

You can fall off at 5MPH and suffer brain damage. Wear a helmet!

That's just crazy.

Take a coupon for a dozen donuts! It's easier to carry on a bike. :D

Get a light of sorts if you're going to be riding at night. I'm pretty sure they can fine you if you don't have one.

There's fat cops on bikes on my campus- we just outrun 'em. What are they gonna do? A strong, wise rider on a mountain bike is impossible to catch.

"Uh oh, here comes the loading dock... JUMP THIS, PIG!"
