Copper CPU Shims vs. Anodized CPU Shims

Hey there...So I am building a new rig (first timer) and the last aspect I am having trouble figuring out is the use of shims. I have done all kinds of reading and now my head is spinning. I know back in the day copper shims were all that were available and now anodized ones are available. Is there really a chance in shorting things out by using the copper shim? and if so, then I assume the non-conductive shims are better to use...right?

I will be using a Athlon XP 1800 with an Alpha HSF

Any help, would be appreciated.

Go JAZZ!!!!

yeah, non-conductive compounds are better.

Arctic Silver makes good products. I, personally, use Artic Silver 3, they came out with Arctic Alumina, dunno how much better that is, if any than AS, or if it's just less conductive...I don't know. I also don't know about the copper one you're talking about, but I know that I do like AS3 :)

As long as the shim fits well and there's no chance to slip it really doesn't matters wether it's conductive or not. My favorite one is Thermaltake's shim which is here.
