Copper CPU coolers vs. Aluminum CPU coolers

Which one is better, Copper CPU coolers, Copper core cpu coolers or aluminum cpu coolers?

Copper is a better heat conductor than aluminum, but there are variables.

Correct. Copper pulls the heat away quickly, but doesn't seem to transfer the heat to air as well as aluminum. (In my experience.)

I have always had good results with the dual material / Aluminum coolers which have a copper insert above the CPU - you get the best of both, good heat conductor & good heat dissipation

My Prescott (478 2.8ghz) uses a aluminum heat sink lined with copper inserts without pipes and gets the job done pretty well.

I prefer aluminum simply due to weight.

a good, large cooler like the XP-90 works amazing, and is very light to boot.

They now have a copper version of the XP-90, and I'm curious to see how it performs, because the regular aluminum version already does so well.

My CPU HS has a copper cpu contact with an alluminum coiled spreader. On my 3ghz prescott I have a temp of 41c idle and 52 under full load which is pretty good for a prescott proc. So a combo of copper and alluminum works, IMO, the best. I found that an all copper HS really heats the air in the case something fierce so you need a good air exhaust if you go all copper.
