heheh i have a buddy who investigated that "accident"

What happened?

It happend on a midnight shift. the SP fell asleep and BAM! needless to say he was exceeding the 15 mph posted for the flightline.

Its not uncommon for drowsey SP to run into aircraft. When I was stationed at Nellis we drove chevy crew cabs on the flightline. one night an SP fell asleep and smacked into an OV-10 Bronco. he hit the port propeller and the propeller totally cruched the hood, broke the windshield and put a nice crease on the roof. can you say artical-15?

The AF doesnt care for the SP's running into park aircraft heheheh.

That's pretty bizzare. I guess that just goes to show that coffee is our friend. 😀 I bet the guy in the car sure feels stupid. 😛

What does the AF do with OV-10's? I thought the Marine Corps were the only ones using that POS still.

This was back in 1989, They werent AF planes but Army. The army uses them for artillery spotting and air strike spotting. Nellis is a huge training base for electronic warfare, dog fighting and bombardment practice.

Nothing is cooler than driving past a row of 15 A-10's loaded with 20 live 500 pound bombs...

In a similar vein,

I was stationed on an Aircraft carrier (USS JFK) in the early '70s, one rainly day when we were tied to Pier 7 in Norfork, a sailor parked his Motorcycle under the elevator, which was over hanging the pier. Well needless to say when the tide went out 87,000 tons of aircraft carrier did not even lose any paint as it setteled onto the motorcycle. Gave a whole new meaning of "lowrider".
