Don't bother looking at an old 'vomit comet' as they're popularly known. Because of the shoddy wiring for equipment(police departments aren't known for their stellar wiring abilities) and various other things, a used HPP crown vic would be much more suiting for most people. here's another list of differences:

There use to be a few cop cars around my neighborhood that were Mustang 5.0's I haven't seen them around lately I guess they retired them.
They used them around here on the Parkways a few years ago too.
I just saw a Hummer being used as a county police car and I have no idea why they would need a vehicle like that.

fvck, if i was pulled over by a beatle, i wouldnt think twice of stopping but just keep On GOING
FVCK BEATLES

it would seem to me that the crown victoria looks much more sturdy than a mustang (looks, i dunno if it really is), and in a potential ramming situation that a crown would hold up better

as mentioned above, the CHP used to use mustangs. right now they use camaros (the last ones off the line). actually, mustang headlights look enough like crown vic headlights that i slow down for nearly every mustang that comes up behind me already, so if they started using them again, i wouldn't even need to update my habits. 😉

You've been playing too much NFSHP2

Nope he's not

Until a few years ago Belgium police also used Porsche 911 for interceptions on the highway. Today they use high powered BMW 3 series (unmarked) and Volvo R series.

heh, Impalas are not RWD now.. practically nothing is RWD anymore (cars wise)

How about BMW? Around here you see alot of 5 series cop cars (Wiesbaden Ger.) most with V6 but some on autobahn duty have the larger V8. In and around Stuttgart they even drive Porsches as interceptors.

I can only imagine the number of tickets they'd have to issue to pay for there bimmers. They don't need them man. If I see a singly humvee police car in my district I'm going to start a referendum. If your police are all driving around 5 series bmw's, they're clearly overfunded.

Uhmm no, A) it depends in which state they are (which car company is in the state), Wiesbaden usually drives Opel (they are just around the corner), Bavaria drives BMW and Audi mostly, Baden-Würtemberg drives mostly Mercedes, ....

B) These cars are usually leased, and my Institution just leased 5series BMWs because it was cheaper than Ford Mondeos, which we had before (both are german btw)(gotta factor in resale value and at least here in Germany, (premium)german cars are the kings in that (depending on Model and brand though))
