Any suggestions? I was hoping that like, Dragon's Dogma had it, but it doesn't appear to.

But yeah, I am looking for a dragon's dogma-esque game that has like online coop play.

Borderlands has RPG elements...

There aren't many and I just did a quick search. Diablo III is coming and you could do co-op.

I don't think there are any. Demon's Souls / Dark Souls offer coop, but it is not the traditional type and requires certain criteria be met.

Phantasy Star Universe is an MMO (which I think is only on the Xbox 360 now) that has coop, but it required a monthly fee (if it still exists). Phantasy Star Online 2 is supposed to be released this year for PC in NA and EU, but who knows.

Hasn't really been any. Its far cheaper and easier to make multiplayer in all games be versus mode.

I think tomb raider guardian of light might count.

I do wish that there were games that let you coop cross-platform.

I should put in a mention for Dragon's Crown. More of a beat-em-up but it has RPG elements to it with skill trees etc. You can unlock co-op online play or do local co-op

that's exactly what I was thinking of...I dunno, I watched some video reviews of the game. Looks great, and I thought it should have it...

btw, dragon's crown is dragon's dogma I believe.

But you have to unlock coop? That's annoying.

edit: nope. I could have sworn that was the case...but no. different games.

You only unlock the online play because when you go online they want everyone to be somewhat familiar with the game. Nobody will drag down the game that way. It matches you according to level. So with each character you play, a few hours into the story mode you unlock the ability to take that character online.

Phantasy Star Universe closed down in ALL countries.

PSO2 Japan, PC is available now, with a player made UNOFFICIAL English patch (I believe).

It is NOT clear if the official NA/EU English version is still coming or not, and if it is, what the release date will be.

Coop RPG over online for the 360 or PS3

There is (RPG/MMO) Defiance on the xbox 360, which seems to fufill your RPG online requirements.

Youtube video of online coop mode

DC Universe Online is pretty spectacular if you spend the time to really build your CR.

Fable II and Fable III have it, but the third has the only decent co-op implementation. However, the game isn't really that good story-wise, but you can screw around a lot (quite literally on the "screw" part).

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel was co-op and rather enjoyable as I recall. It was like a fun mix of Diablo and The Elder Scrolls.
