From what i have read around, there are people having trouble making CoolnQuiet on XP work.
So here is a short guide, i guess it could work with other cpus and mobos as well:
1. Go to the korean Chaintech website and download the 10/19/2004 bios (obviously only if you own the VNF3-250) Flash it as you know, make your personal settings and set CoolnQuiet on auto.
2. Go to the AMD website and download the Cpudriver (there are two files, you dont have to download the big file, just the small one with the *.inf) Follow the instructions to install it.
3. Go to Control Panel run Power Options and select as Power Scheme the Portable/Laptop one.
Make your personal settings for Turn off monitor etc and Save As... the new Power Scheme as ehhh CoolnQuiet. Apply it press OK and you have CoolnQuiet!
You can check how the multiplier and temperature falls with any tool, like ClockGen, CBId, DigiDoc etc
Well my mobo can't control the cpufan speed, so its not CoolnQuiet but just Cool
Thats all and greetings from Greece, man i cant believe its still summer here...
