I've got an Abit kv8 pro.

When I turn on cool'n'quiet, it works but I get sporadic blues screens or this weird hang where windows still responds but is extremely slow & cannot execute any programs.

I've got the latest drivers for CNQ from AMD as well as all the newest stuff from Abit.

Does anyone have any ideas? Do I have a bad MB or something? Does CNQ just suck?

iv'e got an epox 8kda3+ w/an oc'd sempron 3100. in the latest bios rev from epox,cool-n-quiet is completely removed from the bios. it sucks that badly. it's VERY depenant on the size/type/timings of your memory. just turn that shiat off and forget it's even there.

I had no luck with Cool 'n' Quiet. It would cause hangs and would not wake the processor up. So instead of running at 2200Mhz it was always on at 1100Mhz.

I reinstalled XP, turned off CNQ in the bios, and never installed the drivers.

the purpose of CnQ is to lower the multiplier when the system is not underload. I know from personal experience, I have no slowdown whatsoever in games or benchmarking. Heck, my 3DMark03 score was actually like 15 points higher with CnQ on.
