Coolmax Power supply REBATE SCAM !!!

Be aware that COOLMAX rebate offer for their power supplies sold via various internet retails line zipzoomfly.com or newegg.com is a PURE SCAM intended not TO PAY YOU. I bought one of these late last year from zipzoomfly.com and here the problem starts. For first when the e-sellers send you your stuff they hardly ever (not in my case) include original invoice. You will get only packing slip since you can print our own invoice online (what is perfectly understandable). But Coolmax requires the ORIGNAL INVOICE. I had a filling that this is a catch not to pay you, so I emailed zipzoomfly.com and asked for the original invoice to be sent to me. Zipzoomfly.com came up to the task and I received invoice in a few days. Being happy now, I put all documentation and sent it out. two months passed, I checked on my rebate on their site and I see status: ?Rejected. Missing Material? . I have email Coolmax support to ask why, and here is the response:

Dear Valued Customer,
We are sorry to inform you that your rebate was rejected due to the following reason
.Insufficient Documentation. NO CIRCLE DATE ON THE ELIGIBLE INVOICE
We thank you for your understanding.

Well, this is the biggest B.S. I have ever seen made purposely to deny you a payment. First they know that most people will just print the invoice online and they will deny based on this, for second I had only one single purchase on my invoice for only one amount, so what the hell is the problem, they can?t educate people to read English???

actually, is there any layer on the house filling about getting some class action lawsuit going on? I am positive a bunch of other folks got cheated this way too.

And also, I am going to email them back since I think I have a legal case too.
They put 5 required steps on the mail in rebate form. At the first step ONLY they put ** regarding that online sales slips not accepted,
then the rest of the number steps follow and under all 5 bullet points they have this same ** saying ?Failure to submit any of the req?

well, I should assume (isn?t that so) that ** refers to ** which only refers to point 1 of the invoice. Circling the date and price is required by step 3 that is not marked by any **.

I am probably not going to get anyway, but to all you folks lured by the cheap power supply from coolmax, go and by somewhere else.

I think this is a new low for them "NO CIRCLE DATE ON THE ELIGIBLE INVOICE" god that's a sorry excuse. I think BBB or someone's got to hear your case! Can you put your case forward to BBB so the gov can do something about it?

I don't know. Was English the language used to tell you to circle the price?

ohsnap. lol.

Remember the last part also where you need to take all the paperwork, put it in a sock with garlic, stand in your front yard in your underwear, swing it over your head and scream like a chicken.
Get a picture or they will deny you. 🙂

While we're at it, let's sue Coolmax for over-rating their PSUs, which are actually crap.

for what is worth I replied to them with note that I am going to forward this crap to BBB and FTC. in my own eyes this is a clear scam intended to sell their stuff by luring people for the rebates they not intend to honor....

Hey, it seems that, with these guys, if they say to do that, you better do it. Over at FW someone was denied for handwriting the address on the envelope instead of using their address label.

However, if step 3 says to circle the price, I circle the price - even when there is only one item - just in case they are anal. Now we're warned - Coolmax is VERY anal.

Allison leaves to check out her supply of garlic and chickens.

Almost as bad as Cooler Master with their rebates.... they kept saying they didn't receive it. I mailed copies 5 times, 2 certified mail, they would never give it to me even when I had proof. I filed with the BBB but it didn not help.

This appears to be similar to the rebate form in question. In short, you screwed up. The ** only appears on the first step because it only refers to what you "submit," not what you have to do. It wouldn't make any sense to put ** after the "circle the price" instructions. You obviously read all the instructions, why didn't you just circle it? The check boxes are there for a reason. This may be kinda "shifty" on their part, but not illegal.

Well, having a similar problem with AllRebates and the Kaspersky Anti-Virus rebate. Claims I didn't send in anything with my form......even though the UPC code, front page from my previous AV software booklet, and copy of receipt were stapled to my rebate form and to get my email address, which they used to inform me I had a problem, was inaccessible until and unless you moved all the other items out of the way.

Glad I made copies of everything (!), but now I'm now outside the rebate window and will probably get rejected on resubmission for that. Damn, I hate rebates and I refuse to play that game nay longer. I won't buy any more products that depend on rebates or frequent companies that rely on rebates to lure you in for low prices.

After dealing with eVGA and a rebate on a 7600GT I will never bother with buying something based on getting the rebate back. I still wouldn't have got the rebate had I not lucked up and got ahold of the main guy that deals with the rebates.

I have to agree with him. Though your situation sucks....so does the power supply....so the whole thing sucks...lol

I must be the luckiest person in the world, because I've probably done over 100 rebates in the last 10 years and have gotten 100% of them back. A few I had to call about, but that always takes care of it. Actually, it's higher than 100% because I've received two checks for the same rebate several times. 🙂 You do have to pay attention to details, and sometimes be persistent, but I've saved literally thousands in rebates over the years. I rarely buy anything without one.
