Cooling / Ventilation / Quietness on new system.

A few questions here :

1) I've noticed most of the cooler made cases are aluminum. I was hoping to get a black case. Am I out of luck on this?

2) Specs of the future PC can be found here. Are there any special considerations to take involving any specific parts as far as quietness / cooling goes? I might OC in the future, but even if I don't, I'd like my system to run reasonably cool, and also not be too loud. It'd be nice to get it to a whisper, but am not really sure if it's possible. Just wondering if there's really anything specific as far as the parts / drives / etc I'm purchasing that will make it hard to get a quite and cool system.

If I were you, I'd swap that Maxtor drive I am assuming you are going to use for data storage and replace it with a Seagate.

Yeah, I may do that. I heard Maxtor was good, but also heard some reviews saying Seagate is also top notch, for some reason I always assumed Seagate was a not so good manufacturer.

Will this be quiet / cool on stock? If not, what should I be doing to make sure my system is cool / quiet. If anyone has any advice or suggestions, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure what will run hot / loud as far as the parts are concerned. Those Raptors will be in Raid 0, if that matters.

Ok, I heard AMD's run hot, and Raptors are noisy and run hot as well. I've also heard talk of grease or something that you put on the processor. Does this help keep it cool? I'm a newb when it comes to cooling and OCing, any help on what to do to get this system running cool and quiet would be greatly appreciated.

Was looking for a black case, that's cooled well. Not many have LCD displays, I've always wanted one. Anyone know where to find a black case with nice ventilation and LCD?

Hi,

I hope you realise you have a socket 940 chip and a socket 939 mainboard.

Won't work, try and get a different CPU(s939)

Samsungs are supposedly quieter than seagates with more performance.

THe Raptors 74 gig is silent to me when it is idle. It is not silent when it is seeking.
Same with my maxtor 160 gb hdd.

The WD 120s i have are blazingly loud and annoying all the time.

Sorry i couldnt find a link for a samsung vs seagate vs maxtor review. I know i read it somewhere...
