My recent build include a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 board and a EVGA 8800GTS video card. The south bridge is half buried underneath the massive heatsink of the 8800 GTS. The yellow colored south bridge heatsink feels quite hot by touch.
I am trying to find a way to lower the south bridge temperature. A taller straight up heatsink would not be installed, because of the adjacent 8800 card. I tried to mount a Thermalright HR-05 SLI, which has a bent heatpipe. Unfortunately all three Thermalright mouting brackets have the holes separated too far for the south bridge. Didn't expect that! Apparently the northbridge chips have their push pins distanced much further.
Any good solutions?
