Cooling software

A friend of mine has some software that has temperature sensors so that he can monitor the temps while the computer is on. He accesses this stuff through the OS, not through a readout on the case. I am not sure if he has a pc card for this or what, but has anyone heard of stuff like this and who makes it and where would I get my hands on something like this? Thanks

motherboard monitor can monitor the temperature of thermistors on your motherboard, if you have any. that's the only thing that i can think of that this guy might be using. lemme go find a link.

via makes a temp monitor also. i think it's called via hardware monitor

you can use CPUcool. it monitors temperature of thermistors on the motherboard + cool down your CPU temp.
