On my new computer, I really haven't added any cooling devices, ive yet to use the machine.

Currently all it has is the PSU fan (duh), the CPU heatsink, and a little fan that came plugged in the mobo in the middle. I haven't put any thermal paste or anything in the CPU, but the heatsink had a thermal pad underneath it.

What do you guys recommend? I don't want something crazy like water cooling or wahtever, just pretty standard affordable stuff.

Sorry if this REALLY stupid to some of you, but we all have to start somewhere :)

Switching out the thermal pad for artic silver would help. I would also add an Antec exhausting if you have a space avaliable.

k first off what case do u have? Get an exhaust fan for the back of the case. If your room is usually cool get an intake fan but make sure u use an air filter, cleaning dust out of your case isnt fun. For an air filter you can use women's stockings. You may want to take your HSF off, take the thermal pad off and put some artic ssilver 5 on it.
