Cooling Newb

When I purchase my new mobo/cpu(retail 2500+), it will come with a stock HSF correct?

Besides the default HSF, what other cooling do I have to purchase?

I have seen "case fans", "chipset cooling", "cpu cooling", etc. etc.

Case fans are about the only other "necessary" items. An aftermarket CPU cooler would be nice if you're overclocking, and chipset cooling os only needed for extreme overclocking.

If you're not overclocking and the noise is OK, you'll be fine. If the 2500+ has any heat problems with the retail HSF, you'll want to look at your case airflow (and don't listen to anyone here that has more than four fans in their case, 'cause they don't realize that two is as good 🙂)
