I have the machine in my specs and when I run starcraft 2 for many hours (~6ish) it occasionally crashes and restarts. I'm guessing this is a cooling issue because the fans on my 4870x2s are going full blast the whole time I'm play sc2. also I have all stock cooling as it is now in my Cosmos S and the airflow could be much better. I've never looked into aftermarket cooling and need some advice. anyone have any tips?

no I have the fan. I monitored the cards when it crashed and it was at 97 degrees celsius, 100% fan, 99% load.

can you put aftermarket cooling onto a stock radeon 4870x2?
Accelero sells some compatible aftermarket cooling for 4870x2s, but they're triple slot I believe so it might be hard to make that fit with two cards. You might consider water.

If you take off your side panel and blow a house fan into your case, do your temperatures improve significantly? If so, then changing the heatsinks on your video cards isn't going to do much (unless you WC) since it's the airflow in your case causing problems.
