hey again everybody



alright i got some thermal grease for my cpu, but now that i take off my heat sink i see that the old thermal tape on there apears to be melted on.. i looks like pink bubble gum but hardened. it was a pain to scrape it sufficiently off my heatsink but now theres also some 'bubble gum' on my my chip and the processor surrounding it, what should i do? leave it?theres not to much on the chip itself, or is it safe to scrape it?

If you use a razor blade like you use to scape a window (one sided) and new and very sharp, and then be very careful, you can scrape. Then use Isopropyl alcohol to wash off the reside, then use your themal paste.
