I was just cleaning off my desk and relized hey my monitor gets really hot. Now I know that all monitors get hot but I was wondering if you was to put a fan on top sucking out would it give any benifets in anyway.

I usually leave my monitor on all the time to!

that's a very good idea...

I use a monitor cooler that can be found at most cooling shops online, or you can use a small fan.

You're monitor is probably the most expensive computer equipment if you have a nice one, so take care of it.

I don't think monitors have as sensitive circuitry as a CPU, so it's not as critical to cool them - they can take quite a bit of heat. However, if you still want to, then put a filter over the bottom air ducts to keep out the dust (dust in a monitor would really suck - you can't clean it out easily)

monitors are designed to run at a certain temp. ever notice how your monitor looks a little off right when you turn it on?

I actually bought one of these and it works really well. Quiet and makes a noticeable differnces in temp on the top of the monitor. Necessary... probably not. I took it out because the cooler is powered through a fix foot wire that hooks up to a external slot on the back of the case. Don't waste your money.
