Cooling Mod for Inspiron 8600 + Radeon 9600...

Came across this at www.notebookforums.com

Involves opening the laptop up and replacing the Dell's thermal pads for the GPU with copper strips and AS5....

The author promises an immediate drop of 15-20 degrees (F) immediately and more when AS5 settle...

He also claims running the his 9600 at 402/300 @ 175 degrees under load.

To bad I dont have a 9600 in my I8500 🙁
 
I can run mine at 395/320 without the mod at about 90C, though i only ran it long enough to run 3dmark 03, then when back to stock, so his oc isint that impressive and probably not worth voiding the warranty (especialy on a dell, where there is little reason to buy without the warranty)
 
His GPU is running 10 degree C lower ....

Thats not bad...

But yeah, i agree, not worth voiding the warranty....
