Cooling Issue w/ E6600 and my first build

then u state you ripped everything apart and now you have:

excuse me but that is no 5 C ...it is the SAME!

(i am looking at the same system specs...hence my interest)

And that was a great temp to begin with (want cooler?..then lower your room to 60 C hehe)

I recently built a computer for my brother, using an Asus P5W DH mobo and a C2D E6400 with Zalman CNPS8000 HSF. It idles at ~25 to 27ºC, so it does seem like yours is running a little hot. This wasn't using a P180 though, the case is a Tt Armor Jr.

Yeah, I was getting temps all over the place in the beginning. Before I reseated the HS and used some AS5 I was usually around 40-41C idle and close to 50C running 1 instance of Prime95.

AFTER changing everything I run @ 31-33C idle and running ORTHOS small FFS test I SOMETIMES hit 47C, and that's when it's 100F outside (my comp sits right next to a window). I expect temps to drop even more since the AS5 hasn't had its full time to burn in or w/e.

Now I just have to decide if I want to OC this baby with that adapter connected that Intel says don't use if you want to OC.

And for you people getting 25-27C temps. . .I say you're all liars!!
