I have a E8500 3.16 ghz, intel dp43tf mobo with Six gigs of kingston ram and a EVGA 9800 gt stock clocks. It is an Antec case similar to the 200 or 300 but older. I recently bought 2 fans for the front of the case. 9.2 cm ones and had them sucking in more air.
My vid card temp sky rocketed to 90c in a matter of 20 mins while playing WOW. I then disconnected one and temps dropped to 86c avg. i then dc them both,removed them and installed one on the side of my case blowing directly onto the vid card. the temp still reaches about 84c avg. the fan in the back has 3 speeds and no matter the speed it still does not reduce my temps.
all other temps in the case are fine and no air feels hot to the touch. just mildy warm out the back. even the vent directly beside the card with out a fan on it still had cool air coming out.
Any ideas on fan placement or why my graphics card is at an avg temp of about 84c???? any and all help would be tremendously appreciated
