Cooling Friends, I Need You

Hey...during the summer, my PC gets way too hot! I'm wondering how to remedy this. I was thinking of putting a fan inside my case somehow, on the top or on the side, to cool the case. I dont really know if that's feasible or if it would do anything, though. Ive got one fan in front (which doesnt seem to do anything when i shut it off, is it even helping? wtf lol) and one in the back. I have an antec p160 case w/ a clear side window. You guys have any ideas that wouldnt be hard? Just like, attach a fan to the inside somehow?

Thanks alot!

You can replace the stock fans with high speed ones. Its noisier but it will help. Also make sure cables and such in the case are tidy and not blocking airflow.

The answer (as always 😛) is: it depends. How much difference is there between your case temperature and room temperature? The best fans can do for you is to make the case temperature equal to the room temperature. Realistically, you might be able to get within a few degrees with very good airflow.

You mean a fan that doesnt draw inside air, just moves more air around inside the case? If so I dont think that will help overall with case temps, just stir things up more and maybe eliminate some hot spots.

Depending on exactly how it is set-up, replacing fans may do more good than adding extra fans. It depends. What sizes are your current fans. You might think about replacing 80mms with 120mms if they'll fit.

You could add an illuminated 80mm/92mm fan to your side window, above your CPU/Graphics Card. It won't be the quietest option, but it will look good and should increase Airflow.

A/C in the room?

run a section of dryer vent hose from the a/c unit to the air intake side of the
computer case. 🙂

Otherwise 120mm fans,work good usually,even at 7 volt!
