Cooling for OC a 2.4C?

Well I'm getting a IS7-E + 2.4C, but will the retail heatsink and fan get me past 3.0Ghz if the 2.4C is capable of it. Or will I need a different fan? Also what would be a good heatsink/fan anyways? I want one that cools well yet is quiet. How are the Thermaltake Volcano's? I heard they are very loud. Thanks. 🙂

I've heard a lot of people say that their Retail heatsink does a good job of cooling while overclocking but if you're really worried you might want to try a Thermalright SLK900, it accepts a 92mm fan so you can get a lot of cooling without much noise. Its not exactly cheap but its worth every penny. Also another good cooler is the Swiftech MCX4000, also takes a 92mm fan.

you can keep the HSF and use some thermal grease instead of its pad to put it down a celsius or few

i've had mine @3.0 with the retail HSF but i put it back down because i dun need it yet😉
