Hi, the fan for my Laptop is very noisy and I am trying to replace it with a better one. I dissembled the laptop (out of warranty) and figured out the dimmensions approximately. Could I replace it with a similar one for desktop? If so, where should I look it for? Thanks in advance for any comment.

PS: The laptop is VPR- Matrix 175-B4. A new fan for it on Ebay asks for $30 which I think too expensive.
 
What is the size of the fan? The laptops I've ripped apart take tiny fans (sub 40mm) which are not easy to locate either. Before I purchased a fan from ebay, I'd make double (or tripple) sure that it's brand spankin new, in the original box. Otherwise, you might encounter the same issue as before. Also hunt down the specs to make sure it's not just as loud as the one you have.

Another option is to contact either the manufacturer to see about getting the correct fan for the laptop. Or perhaps a shop that repairs them and see if they can give you a better fan for not a lot of money.
