Cooling Fan replacements + filter?

I have 3 case fans im looking to replace for queiter, with same airflow fans

I have the Thermaltake Tsunami and it came with 2 Thermaltake 120mm fans that are rated at 21 db.. but are really like 40 with the whole system
and also a 92 mm Fan on teh side which has MAD dust problems.. so i turned it off now

So my question is .. what is a good noise/airflow ratio fan for the 120mm and 92mm size.. and arent expensive? i dont need any mroe airflow than i already have (not sure how much CFM , doesnt state anyhwere) but i dont really want to get any less

Also since i have some dust problems.. is there any mod or trick to making air filters myself, or buying things to make some, to help it?

I have a front air filter but it really doesnt do much since most the air is pulled from below not forward.. the side one is bad times lol

I've used K&N air filter foam but it's to restrictive, pantyhose and screens aren't for me. Cutting home a/c filter material to size works very well. One $1.49 filter from Ace Hardware makes for many replacements.

Use canned air, a vacuum cleaner and an all plastic paint brush to clean the internals out.
Use the brush between the HS fins as best you can. You might remove the CPU's fan to do a proper job of it. Do this with the PSU unplugged from the 110V source.
Since you got the vacuum out(you do remember where you last stored it 😀), clean the room.
Neither of my rigs(2) is within 12" of the floor. The first 6" above any floor is filled with dust, dead skin, floting grit of all types and discription.
To flow good air with some degree of quiet look to 38mm thick low speed fans. Buy decent fans and you only buy once. Keep the old fans for when you sell or retire the case for a back-up rig.
SVC.com is having a blow-out on 80 & 92mm Panaflos right now, they are 25mm thick however, like today! $3.00 each.
They have a ThermalTake 130mm in the 120x25 fan section of the catalog that looks interesting. I just saw it and know nothing of it.

You could just buy a Sunbeam Rheobus for < $10 from Jab-Tech.com and slow your present fans down.

Good Luck and welcome to our forums here @ AnandTech BassBomb. What's with the name? Do you fish with dynamite 😀
Thank you for having the guts to show a profile and have PM avalible, too many new folks hide that access. It doesn't set well with some of us.

Now get over to SVC and see if they have what you need.

heheh, nah its just the sound i wish my car to imply as im rolling down the street 😀
but i got no money so its pointless at the moment ANYWAYS on topic here

i dont really have dust problem with the components as they arent too bad for 3 months of no clean since i got this case/new pc .. i know how to clean 🙂

just where the intake fans are there seems to be some dust collecting.. i can probably replace the side mesh grill with a filter .. the front one isnt really too bad.. i can reorient the filter already there so it works bettter

As for thick fans.. im not sure if i can use those since the case comes with snap fit's for fans... so i might have to remove that to use screws? not sure

i dont exactly trust thermaltake and their fan ratings :S since they usually are alot higher than stated.. thanks for comment! glad to be here
