Cooling Core 2 Duos

Looking for suggestions on cooling an E6600. As of now, I'm looking at a Thermalright Ultra-120 Heatsink. However, I'm wondering if I would be better off with something that included a fan.

Note - I'm trying to reduce as much noise as possible 🙂

Just get a low speed panaflo, and the utra will be great. Duvie has a Ninja Sythe (spelling?) and he says its very quiet.

scythe infinity is also a good choice

tuniq tower 120 if you can find one

ultra 120 thermalright

as well as teh ninja

with low speed fans ninja>infinity.
the infinity needs fans with higher airflow due to the very tight fins.

op is looking for something quiet.

i'd rank it as
1. tuniq tower
2. ninja
3. infinity

but tuniq tower goes for around $70 shipped last i checked and only on ebay.
ninja is available for $46 shipped. the infinity is up around $60.

scythe ninja works very well with a quiet, lower cfm fan than others because the fins spacing is large. Its probably what you are looking for since you want the quietest solution. An ultra-12o would work well too.

I think I'm just going to try the Ultra-120 and use a Scythe S-FLex 800 rpm fan.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

Dont get panaflo... they are overrated.. u can find better and more quiet fans.. I own two panaflos and wont buy them again...

edit: if u want TT, ebay is ur best bet
