Cooling computer in desk enclosure

My computer is inside a desk enclosure that gets pretty hot unless I leave the front door open. I was thinking of cutting a hole in the back of the desk and mounting a 140mm case fanhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki to the desk. I was wondering if there are any 3-pin/4-pin to USB adapters out there? I'd rather not use 4-pin cabling from inside the computer out to the fan. Are there any better ways of cooling the desk?
 
I would consider an AC over DC fans for something like this. Its simple to find the usual popular sizes for both types.

It would operate independently from your PC's power source and you could leave it running after shutting down the PC to get rid of stagnant heat which stresses a lot of electronic components.

Some pc psu's have this feature built in. The fan runs for a few minutes before going into total standby.
 
The external sata zep mentioned is so nice I put it in front of my case! well, I mounted the sata and a molex, nice for backups. I was surprised to see one with IDE at Performance PCs' as well. I never new they existed.
 
Recommendation - when cutting, plan for an exhaust fan at the top back, and also cut some sort of empty "intake" hole at the bottom. That'll be the most efficient, instead of your exhaust fan trying to suck air through the closed doorway.
