Cooling a raptor HDD, whilst keeping it quiet~

Hi folks, newbie here.

Got a couple questions here:

1. Antec HD cooler - any of you used it? Is it cool enough for a western digital raptor, and can it silence it sufficiently? Any HD cooler out there that boasts that it can sufficiently silence and cool a raptor? wondering when WD will come out with something bigger than 74gb...

2. HDD trays - any of you know of some names that make 5 1/4" HDD trays where u can swap in/out HDD's?

I'm trying to design a comp for audio recording purposes, and fast HDD's and quiet computing are going to have to work together in the same PC.

I'm also looking at modular case config's - ie housing the optical drives outside the main comp case. any ideas, brands, models? I'm thinking I'll make a go at keeping everything SATA.

Are you sure you want raptors? I generally thing it's a bad idea unless you're spending a LOT on the computer. Do you really need fast harddrives for audio recording? I wouldn't think so...

A cooler isn't going to make it any quieter. It doesn't subract any of the noise the raptor is going to make.

I had my 2 raptors sit right behind my case intake fans, and they are always barely warm to touch.
Honestly, I never thought the raptors are any noiser or hotter than the other drives.

Yeah, I'm not really sure how much noise raptors make... I've always heard great things about Seagates being quiet reliable drives. Samsung too I think.

Raptors's heat level is in par with 7200 rpm HDD. You don't really have to actively cool it.
Except some difference sound the Raptor made compared to other HDD the sound level is again in par with 7200rpm HDD. Some people find it noisy just because the noise is quite distinctly different from normal 7200 HDDs. It's a delusion.

AAT's recent review of hard drives put the idle temps and decibels of Raptors below such drives as the Seagate 7800.8 and the Diamondmax 10.
