Hey all,

I'm building a new system with a CM 690 as my case and wanted some input on airflow. I'm attaching a link to a very, very rough diagram on what I'm thinking and wanted to get some input from others. For now, I'm using the stock Intel cooler, but may change if needed.

For those unfamiliar with the CM 690, there's a fan on the mobo tray just behind the CPU, between the tray and right case side.

looks good. I have the same setup, minus the top fan. I'm not sure what the purpose of the 80mm fan behind the motherboard is... What are you blowing on?

I've heard that circulating air behind the motherboard can help lower internal temps. . .I figured it couldn't hurt. I decided to make that one an exhaust to pull any heat from the motherboard itself.

I think the three stock, or three better than stock, fans in the rear, bottom and front should be adequate. Air comes back into the case from the top fans because the top bezel doesn't breathe well. If you open the things that look like vents toward the back sides of the bezel, it might breathe better.

I had the 80x15mm fan mounted in my. It may have helped a hair, but I had to hook it into a rheostat cause that little sucker was LOUD!
If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't do it all over again. :)
