Cooling a 9700 AIW

I was curious if anyone had any recommendations for cooling an ATI 9700 Pro AIW. I was checking out the Zalman ZM80C-HP and came across a site that said it would mate to a 9800 AIW so I am not too worried about fit but performance still may be an issue. Any other suggestions? H2O is not a viable option at this time.

The card has a tendency to run extremely hot with the stock cooling...prolonged gameplay at high resolutions has a tendency to lockup or bsod. Ambient case temps range from 20-24C , I am not sure on the cards temp but it gets hot enough to leave a blister on my finger (touching the backside of the pcb where the gpu is).

I would RMA the card if you are having issues like that....you may also want to try reseating the Heatsink, it may have come loose and itsn't make good contact. Also try replacing the Thermal Grease that is on there with some Arctic Silver

I will try reseating the hs/f and see how it feels...Anyone know offhand if these cards has a thermal diode akin to those in most cpu's? And if so, any software to give me a reading?
