How the heck can you say a 944 or 924S handles better than a brand new porsche 911.

There is absolutely NO WAY that could be true, what are you basing this on.

Not to mention some of the new porsches are AWD. Perhaps your basing it on driving on curves at top speed and being that the 924s probably has a paltry top speed that COULD be true.

I've have a 95 civic which I bought brand new, and I've only had to replace the clutch and the trasmission after 155,000 miles. Other then that no problems!!
