Do helmets count? This is my current favorite:

I'd buy my own if they'd let me, but not authorized for regular Joes like me.

That said, if we are talking non-combat, non-ballistic headwear, even as an Army guy, I have to pick the Marine Corps cover above as one of my favorites.

I can honestly say, that they all fucking suck to wear. I did rock the shit out of my boonie cap when I was Afghanistan, but it looks ridiculous (which is why I wore it).

a well worn beret is by far the coolest military hat, unfortunatly many people don't know how to wear it right and also get one way too big.

Hard to really argue with this :

The Nazis, and in particular the SS, were horrible, but damn they had good equipment and style. Lol.

The Russian Ushanka might be my favorite though, it's boss.

The real ones fold out and can cover your neck and ears as well.

I'm seriously thinking of buying one for myself. I geek out on WWII armor hardware.

a friend of mine got one of those off a Russian soldier when the wall came down. Traded Ivan a 3cell mag-light for it. 3 things were the hottest commodity when it came to trading with the Russians. Booze, smokes and mag-lights.

I almost got the hat off a Austrian border guard for my 3cell mag-light. the guard really really wanted to do the trade but his buddy said something to him in German that was basically, "dude if the Sargent comes and you don't have your hat, you will be in big trouble"

so i didnt get my hat.

The Nazis, and in particular the SS, were horrible, but damn they had good equipment and style. Lol.

Their uniforms were designed by Hugo Boss.

Though he claimed in a 1934/1935 advertising he had been a “supplier for Nazi uniforms since 1924”, such supplies are probable since 1928/1929 and certain since 1934, when he became an Reichszeugmeisterei-licensed (official) supplier of uniforms to the Sturmabteilung, Schutzstaffel, Hitler Youth, National Socialist Motor Corps and other party organizations.[10] To meet demand in later years of the war, Boss used about 30 to 40 prisoners of war and about 150 forced laborers, from the Baltic States, Belgium, France, Italy, Austria, Poland, Czechoslovakia and the former Soviet Union.[10] According to German historian Henning Kober, the company managers were “avowed nazis”, “the Boss were all great admirers of Adolf Hitler” and Hugo Boss had in 1945 in his apartment a photograph of himself with Hitler taken in the latter's Obersalzberg retreat.
