In my opinion a 2001 Mirage ($15,000) with the Lancer EVO IV body kit and front air dam is damn sweet. And you might even have enough to upgrade the engine a bit with the cash left over.

A malibu pimped out on appearance without being fast is just rice!

Factory rice excluded

Typical ricers. All show and no go. I don't see why modding imports is so popular. I'd rather mod a V8 and have an ok looking 11 second 1/4 mile car than a good looking 15 second 1/4 mile car.

Well with a V8 car its more costly than a rice-rocket - although a rice plus some mods is going to cost you as much as a V8 - and still not be as fast in most cases...

So, insurance? I guess that could be a reason...or gas...

Still though - I'm partial to japanesse cars but spending $30k up front on a $30k car with factory power is in most cases smarter than spending $15-20k then another $10-15k in mods!
