Hi guys, si there anyone out there who owns a coolermaster X-Dream HSF? I'm thinkin of getting one for my 2400+ that I plan to OC to (hopefully) 2.2ghz. Cant get a more expensive cooler - $20 max. I've read a coupl eof reviews that show that its a good cooler. Now I'm looking to find out about any problems encountered with this cooler. Advice please!

Cant remember the link to a review but the easiest thing to do is always bring up www.google.com and type in the product name and add 'review' at the end. Ive read reviews of this HSF and it said that its nothing spectacular, but a solid performer and pretty quiet. Dont think itll handle any real hot or overclocked CPU's very well though. Personally Id go with an Thermalright SK-7 (I just bought one) which are around 20 bucks in America as I understand it, and perform far better. With the bonus of supporting quiter, or on the other hand monster high CFM, 80mm fans, further future-proofing the heatsink against upcoming CPU's. As well as giving yourself extra headroom for overclocking, which believe me even if you dont do now, you WILL think about in future. Hope that helps!:D

Xdream gives very good bang for the buck value.
I believe you would like to spend $20 total including shipping and fan correct?

You should be able to get it shipped for under or at $20.

Performance wise, I seen several reviews saying it's between V9 and V7+.

Hi ironique.
I had my coolermaster X-Dream on a 2200 t-bred b.
Turning around 4000 rpm it kept it at 42 to 43 centigrade running SOB and Chessbrain.
I played some Quake 3 and it went up a couple degrees.
My cpu socket lugs are pointed away from the power supply and toward the DDR slots.
I had to bend the tab you use to install the heatsink up a bit to clear the memory stick.
The tab works great in my opinion.
The fan is a bit noisy to me at 4000 rpm, you could turn it down some for normal use.
I bought the coolermaster X-Dream from frys for $9.99 plus tax.
I just swapped it for an SK-7 I bought off the forums and put on an ADDA 80x80x25 mm fan on it.
The ADDA specs are:
2400 rpm
31 cfm
28 db.

My 2200 now idles in the mid 30's and high 30's under load.
I can barely hear it also.
Keep in mind I am geting readings from the diode under the cpu in the socket.
I bought the coolermaster X-Dream from frys for $9.99 plus tax.
Hope this helps.:D
