This seems like a decently-cheap heatsink for 1156 systems. By the looks of it, it can't be much worse, if any, than that OCZ Vendetta, and I think you still cannot get an 1156 bracket for the Vendetta, only a 1366 kit for extra $$$.

So for some Core i3 overclocking on the cheap, this is the ticket!

Sleeve bearings. :(

Also, no free CPU included and is not free after rebate.

It needs to be cheap to hit the price point. Besides, sleeve bearings are quieter, and in a typical computer setup it will be mounted vertically, meaning it will last longer than sleeve bearing fans in power supplies.

Not to mention fans are cheap and easy to replace.

Ordered 1 from Amazon since I have free prime. I'll see how it does on my i3-530
setup from ewiz.

omfg i spent more than double this on a Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2. I also have a Cooler Master Hyper TX2, but I didn't know where I put the AMD retention plate, so I wasn't sure I could install it on my new mobo.

At least the Freezer 7 Pro was relatively easy to install since it doesn't use a plate. Instead it uses 2 separate lugs that you screw in. And, it's pretty quiet.

But, you probably won't go wrong with the Hyper TX3, since the Hyper TX2 was a pretty decent cooler too.

I have one cooling a 65nm quad core (G0). Does a pretty good job, certainly miles better than the stock cooling.

It's not really a big deal that it has a sleeve fan. You'll be mounting it such that the fan is vertical, sleeve fans do fine if they are vertical. Plus they're quieter than ball bearing fans usually and undervolt better.

I bought one to cool my side computer that my friends game on. I live in Texas and from order to door its going to take less then 72 hours!

Normally packages take like 4-5 days to arrive here, the amazon one shipped from some place that wasn't UPS/USPS or Fedex.

It's probably worse than the vendetta or xigmatek as this has 92mm fan the fins are smaller.

How does this compare to the CM Hyper 212+? My i7 860 system is running at 3.6ghz on the Hyper 212+.

Nice cooler, for sure, and can't beat that price.

Doh... answered my own question... TX3 is a smaller fan (and radiator fin size). The Hyper 212+ is 120mm to the TX3's 92mm.

Still, not a bad design, if you do not intend to push your system.
