These are supposedly better than the Antec Tri LEds because it's QUAD led's, and has a lower dba. Antec = 30 DBA, Coolermaster = 25 DBA. It also has Coolermasters new patented "Rifle" sleeve/bearing technology which improves the lifespan of the fan as well as reduce noise level.

Thanks for the heads-up. But I can't help but remarking, if you buy ONE and they cost SIX dollars plus $5 shipping, and if you buy THREE they cost $8.50 with "free" shipping, is the shipping really "free?" I can't help but notice if you bought 3 fans for $6, plus the same $5 shipping (which is reasonable to expect, since after all, what is the difference in weight/volume between 1 fan and 3?), you are actually paying $2.50 less by paying for hte shipping.

This kind of crap by retailers makes me almost want to take a loss myself to keep them from screwing you. n other words, if you REALLY need three fans, place three separate orders for $6 + $5 shipping each each. You'll pay $5.50 more, but I can almost guarantee that newegg will make LESS on those three separate orders, than on one with the "free" shipping.

I used to think highly of newegg, but this kind of stuff is really annoying.

How much louder would these be than the fans I'm using that came in the Antec SX840 case (similar label as Top Motor but says Antec)? Or than a Panaflo L1A?

The Panaflos are 21 DBA i think. the Coolermasters are 25 dba. So not much difference.

I think Newegg has some sort of pricing error thus accounting for the order more but pay more. I think the original price is probably like $9 or something.

The Antec fans don't look brighterthan the Cooler Master, but that's just going by the online pics each provides.
More importantly, the Antecs appear to be about the same CFM, but quite a bit louder (but again, just going by the online specs). Is this true in reality? Also the Antecs are more expensive than the Cooler Master. Is the Rifle bearing good in reality?

What kind of fan is this from SVC? Anyone tried these?

Anyone know what factory, non-LED fans came in the Antec SX840 or SX830 case?

For the brightness of any light source, don't trust any pics not taken in the same room, with the same lighting, with the same camera, with the same settings. Side-by-side is ideal.

Rifle is new type of sleeving bearing. The old sleeving bearing has oil inside to keep the shaft lubercated. When fan is placed side way, only half of the shaft is lubericated with oil thus increase shaft wear.

Rifle is basically a shaft with groves on it thus it will "pump" the oil and lubercate the entire shaft thus prolong the life of the shaft.

It will be slightly quieter than ball bearing due to less friction.

So no one's tried them?

The Panaflo's have a "Hydro Wave Bearing". Is this similar to the Rifle bearing?

I wouldn't mind the Antecs if they were quite. I'm thinking about getting a new PSU that has thermally controlled smart fans, and also fan-only power connectors to control case fans too. So normally loud fans wouldn't be a problem (unless it got real hot), but LED fans wouldn't be bright hooked up this way. I'd like to get get all new case fans that are quieter than my current Antec fans, and thought about the Panaflo L1A, though these Cooler Masters may do. I'm not sure about the specs of my Antec's though. Two of them came out of my Antec SX830, w/ a black and white label marked DF1208SL .20A, which are Top Motor sleeve bearing, but I can't find the specs for them (some DF1208SL are only .10A, making it more difficult). The other two I'm using came in the SX840 are have a blue and white sticker saying Antec w/ no other writing. They're louder than the Top Motor (probably ball bearing).

I recieved the fans, and I must say, they are very impressive. The BLUE LED's are a deeper blue than the Antec ones. Antec is a shade lighter. Their are quad LED's so it is definately brighter, but that's not the only plus, the other plus is it's SOOO Much quieter than the Antecs and it's noticeable too. Overall I definately recommend the Coolermasters over the Antec's anyday.

Obviously not as loud as a delta or anything, but very few people who know anything about db ratings realize that an increase of 3db is actually double as loud. I know that might not make sense to some people, but its true. If you don't believe me I am sure I can look it up and prove it...but its true.

Yeah I got 4 of these fans as well, 3 of them are great, but one of them have dimmer LED's then the others. It's obviously a defect. But stupid newegg won't pay for return shipping. I"m not sure if it's worth it for me, how much does it cost to send a fan first class? hrm?
