Coolermaster releases RealPower series, I say ripoff of Fortron and Antec

Rather than start my own thread (hey, I did a search!) I'll continue here.

What's a "Ripoff" here? And why is building a quality powersupply frowned upon? With dual 12v rails, I'd say it's more like an Enermax. The fan placement and grill look more like a Fortron. But how can you deny the coolness of the display (whatever it's displaying ;))?

It also boasts a 75% efficiency, which, if true, would be VERY good. The only problem I see is the lack of a pricetag.

, powersupplies are one of the few things that cant really get ripped off IMHO

the better they get, the more the consumer benefits as where cases, for example, are often imitated but rarely improved upon

Who gives a $#!t if they ripoff the name if they make a good quality power supply. The last thing we need to do is complain about another company making a great PSU because they name it similarly to what other companies make. Sorry, I'm not meaning to get mad, but I hate it when people say that something is just a ripoff and so will trash on it solely because of this (I'm not saying you're trashing on it BTW).

That is awesome news. Its always good to have more quality products.

Link works perfectly fine for me Shady. Also, I agree.

Except for the dopey blue ricer LED, looks like a really nice PSU. Can never have enough quality options when it comes to PSU's. Kind of odd that they have a silver front mounted drive bay that matches their cases nicely, yet the PSU is black which doesn't match the color of their cases. Looks like it has all the features you could want. I'd give it a serious look if I was in the market for a PSU.

Still no reviews that I can find. I wonder if the display will come in black. :) I wonder if it shows the overall draw on the PSU. Now THAT would be trick! I bet it'd be a lot lower than a lot would think. :)

FWIW, Coolermaster's site was crapping the bed when I posted. It's working now.

Find out who the manufacturer is before declaring a rip-off. It prolly is a Fortron.

Er...and Antec manufactures power supplies?
Looks like a sleeved Fortron to me.

Eh. Specs look ok. Should be a decent given a good price. That 400,000H MTBF looks impressive.

That meter is indeed going to be measuring the total wattage output of a system. No ricer cr@p there. That would be quite useful if it reads correctly. Hopefully CM isn't going to use it to scare people into buying higher wattage PSUs.

Does look like it is a standard wattmeter. Watty

Watt meter seems extraineous, but cool. And I see no rip off here. The more people out there building quality PSUs the better. It will cut down on the "my computer reboots randomly" threads :)

Has anyone gotten one of these power supplies yet? It seems Newegg has them for $89.99. I guess that's about average for a quality (assuming it is quality) power supply.

There are tons of reviews at the bottom of the page.

I kinda like it, especially the 120mm fan to quiet things down. It also has a 24-pin ATX connector as well, another nice touch. This looks like a good upgrade for my Antec SL400.

I have a lot of love for Coolermaster, anyway. My Aero 7 Lite is currently keeping my 2500+@2.2GHz at a nice cool 40-45 C with the blower dialed down to 2500 RPM. Not bad for a HSF that I got free after rebate at Fry's.
