Coolermaster DP5-5G11 and DP5-5H51 experiences?

Has anyone tried, or is aware of a review somewhere, one of CPU coolers in subject? What kind of temperatures are to be expected with Duron 650@???.

I have Titan Majesty M5AB (identifical to Socket A golden orb, older version), but it is slightly too large for my KT7-RAID and I do not want to use force to mount it, so I bought a
Titan TTC-D2T as a temporary solution to get the thing working, and with it I can get to 825MHz with maximum load temperatures of about 60C, so if I want to get speed, I need a better cooler. Are those coolermasters up to it (900, or 950 maybe), or need I go for Alpha or Globalwin (which are quite a bit more expensive)?

the dp5-5g11 is the boxed retail heatink up to the tbird 800 i think. the durons have it too. Its good enough for very mild overclocking and default speeds. But it doesnt cool all that well, temps are pretty high. I had one on a duron 650 for a little while, temps were around 40C idle.

i had the DP5-5G11 on my duron 600 at 600mhz and it suck'd. at idle i would get 49-51c and around 54-55c at full load after some hours.....

my case temp is a lil high tho... it was around 93-95C (however the cpu temp prolly affected that more than the heat around here......

now with my global win fop32, i get 45-47C at idle and 49-51 at full load.... not much better you say? well it's at 824 now with 1.65 volts.... still not good enough tho.... i recommend the alpha pep66.... that's what i'm getting.... with the delta 38cfm fan........ that should bring my temps to low 40s at around 900-950... btw my chip can do 900-950.... just 50c+ temps scare me......

Thank you, everyone for answers... and now for more questions :)

Everyone seems to be cursing DP5-5G11 down to the deepest hell, so I'll sure stay away from that thing. No one hasn't tried DP5-5H51? I've seen some sites telling DP5-5H53 and DP5-6H51 are quite good, and DP5-5H53 is same size, and has same airflow and fan speed, than 5H51, so if it has the same performance AND if those sites are not lying or just using lousy test methods, it would have really good price/performance ratio, as it is VERY cheap...

Troll: +50 temps do not scare me, it is clearly stated in duron data sheet, that the maximum operating temperature is 70C, so I would probably go up to 65C maximum load temps if the thing would be stable at those temps :)
(btw, the chip is capable of at least 900MHz, I've tried that and it POSTed, but was of course unstable as hell with not too good cooler)

Anyway, what about those Taisols? From what pictures can show, construction seems to be very similar to the CoolerMaster fans in the subject, so what makes those things so great? I don't think they sell TaiSols where I live (Finland), and I'm against the idea of ordering from USA, because they add customs and taxes, postage fees etc, so the price will unfortunately skyrocket. If anyone can tell someone who is selling them inside EU, I could give them an another thought.

But meanwhile looks like only good performance choise is either Alpha PEP66T or Globalwin FOP32, damn those things are expensive, but if there is no choise...

And sorry about horribly long messages, and probably also bad english...

well... i know that the max temp is way up there.... i actually think 90C is the MAX it can go.... but would u want up it there? hehe.... didn't think so......

oh... and btw.... the globalwin fop 32 is NOT expensive..... it's like 23-24 bucks ship'd..... that's how much i paid from 2cooltek.com........ millisec.com has it for that price too i think...... however the fop 32++ may be more since it has the 38cfm fan......

but for that price i'd get the pep66..... it's like 40 bucks ship'd from millisec.com.....

try the vantec one. they sell it at 2cooltek. that is a good fan, i'm using it its about 4C better than the dp5-5g11. It also has a 60 mm fan so you can put other 60 mm fans on it

I have used three CPU coolers, DP5-5G11, DP5-6H51, and TaiSol CEK733092 for Tbird 800@800. So I want to state my experience. All three are approved by AMD and very easy to install/remove. My room temprature is around 24C and motherboard is around 30-32C (a little high due to weak case fans, Dynaeon DF1208SL, 28CFM/24dB, equipped with Antec SX830). Also I removed preattached thermal tapes and used Arctic Silver (because thermal conductivity is several times better). Here are the results.

DP5-5G11 (9.18CFM/31.3dB): 47C at full load, 33C at idle
DP5-6H51 (18.36CFM/32.8dB): 41C at full, 32C at idle
The same heatsink as DP5-6H51 + Sanyo Denki 109R0612H401 (the same fan as equipped with PAL6035, 18.7CFM/28dB): 40C at full, 31C at idle. BTW, I feel that DP5-6H51 is quieter than Sanyo fan.
TaiSol (21CFM/?): The fan died in one day, so no result. I was formatting HD. Suddenly PartitionMagic displayed an error message and stopped. Ten minuites later I found that the CPU fan had stopped and CPU temprature rose up to 91C. Fortunately my Tbird is still alive. In my impression this is equivalent to DP5-6H51 or slightly better. But I will never use TaiSol.

My suggestion is, don't spend money for pricy CPU coolers, good cheeper ones such as DP5-6H51 is enough. If you cannot obtain TaiSol, it is not worth importing.

I have samples of the Coolermaster coolers (all the larger socket versions) en route to me, including the new heatpipe based one. I plan to test them, and if any of them prove worthy (heh... pretentious) I will add them to my stock.

Coolermaster 6H11(up to 1.1Ghz) /w Duron 600@900 1.85V on KT7-100.
Idle:51C
Fullload:55C

It is rock stable. Temp is a bit high but well within specification.I don't use case fan (no mounting space in my case). I am very satisfied /w this HSF b'cs it costs $6 only.

Thanks again.

Reneth: thanks for temp info, even though they don't tell that much, because overclocked system is a different story because it usually runs on higher core voltage than default. I hope broken TaiSol was only bad luck, because these things look quite good, they are not very expensive, are not very big (will probably fit in KT7) and are AMD approved to 1.1GHz.

2Cool: great, I would love to see those results, compared to other heatsinks. Gotta keep an eye on your site for those results, even though I can't buy from there, because shipping, taxes and customs are just too high :(

AMB: Cool. OcUK may yet be my savior :)

And now for the final round, looks like the heatsinks I must choise between are:

CoolerMaster DP5-5H51, which no one seems to have tested so I have no idea of its performance. $11.79

Alpha PAL6035 $41.18
Alpha FC-PAL35 (I've been told that PEP66 doesn't fit KT7) $37.72
Globalwin FOP32 $27.17
TaiSol CEK733092 $27.17

CoolerMaster is dirt cheap even compared to GlobalWin or TaiSol, not to mention those Alphas. But I haven't got a slightest clue of its performance. So, what should it be ?-)

I have the coolermaster DP5 6H51 and I hit 1 ghz with a 600 Mhz duron, Idle temp @38 C. not bad.

I have a coolermaster hsf on my 1ghz tbird. I believe it is the DP5 5G11. It is coming out as soon as I can get my hands on a FOP32-1.

Ambient temp 29-30 degrees celcius.
Idle cpu temp 38-40 degrees celcius
Full load temp 63-65 degrees celcius.

That sucks ass.

I'm still debating whether Artic Silver is worth the expense for the amount I'd use.
