CoolerMaster Case - Power LED?

Howdy Folks,

Just bought all the stuff to put together my i5-2500k build with a Cooler Master Elite 371 case and an ASUS P8Z68-V LX motherboard. It all went together well (except for crossthreading one of the mobo standoffs) until I got to hooking up the front panel connections. The Power LED wire is two-pin, but the socket on the mobo is 3-pin connector with the middle pin a blank.

Is this an oddity with the mobo or the case? Is there a solution like a pigtail converter?

Any thoughts welcome, thanks folks.

Your ASUS board should have come with a "Q-Connector" that you can use.

what you have with that 2-pin connector labeled 'pwr' is the one for the power switch, the one for the led is 3 pin not 2.

Thanks for the replies folks.

I did not get the Q connector in the box, maybe Asus will send one? Since this is the budget Z board I guess I should check to see if it is included.

I did check with Cooler Master and the PLEDplug is indeed just two prong with no middle blank. I guess on the better CM cases they have either the three with middle blank or they make it so the block can be split in half. They did suggest either not using it or pulling the innards.

Seems like an unecessary hassle (along with the non-replaceable punch outs for the front and rear). Since I skipped going to see J Edgar last night I will take the extra $20 and trade up to an Antec 300. I have an old Sonata holding the AMD 939 system I am replacing and relegating to backup and it has lasted 6 years or so with no problems.

Just got back from MC with the 300, install was a breeze. Final price after rebate was $35, should have gotten this in the first place.
