Can you recommend a CPU cooler for the E4400. One that is easy to install,fits well and not overkill.

For 50$ you might as well shell out 10$ more if you ask me for the top-end product. For a little less cash you could buy the arctic freezer 7 pro which also does a pretty good job at cooling.
 
Not overkill? Cooler Master Hyper TX2 or Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. Both are pretty much equals and cost the same. Go with whichever one you like more.
 
Thanks for your advise. I decided to try the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro $35. It fits in well on the GA-P35-DS3R board. Easy to install and runs cool.
